A food forest is about much more than trees. We plant other layers which serve different important purposes. Flowering plants attract pollinators which increase our yields. Berries provide alternative food for wildlife. Ground cover crops prevent weeds from taking over and replenish nutrients. By sponsoring these layers you are helping to complete the food forest ecosystem.
We urgently need to produce seedlings for reforestation, rather than having to buy in all our trees. Polytunnels are ideal for this purpose, but are an expensive investment. Please help us by sponsoring a section of pollytunnel, so we can realise this objective and reforest more quickly using our own seedlings grown from locally collected seeds and cuttings. Our aim is eventually to grow 1000 seedlings a year.
This old olive was unwanted on a neighbour's farm and at risk of being dug out and thrown away. We couldn't let that happen, so we hired a tractor and salvaged it, replanting it on our land. Help to contribute to its continued care by sponsoring it.
